Dr. Folu featured on FOX31 discussing Ognomy
If you’ve been having problems sleeping and trouble staying awake, specialists say there is a chance you could have obstructive sleep apnea. Amid the pandemic, there is now a mobile app to diagnose and treat the condition.
Ognomy is a mobile app that can be used on your phone, desktop or tablet. It allows sleep specialists to evaluate you for sleep apnea in real time, enabling you to instantaneously talk one on one with physicians about your symptoms, and engage in a sleep study in the comfort of your home.
My daughter has Down syndrome and we cannot get her to do a sleep test.. she has a lot of challenges and I believe she has sleep apnea cause she had her gaullbladder out and the surgeon told us she did.. she is suppose to get her toncils out.. but we will not bring her to a hospital due to covid right now. Can we do this at home?
Hi Stacey, thanks for your comment. Your first interaction in the Ognomy app will be with a board-certified practitioner, where you can discuss the most appropriate course of action (including the possibility of a home sleep test), during your daughter’s telemedicine visit. We want to remind you that Ognomy is offered to children 12 years of age, and older. If your daughter is younger than 12, we encourage you to contact your pediatrician for an appropriate referral. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to call the office (1-877-664-6669) or email sheepa@ognomy.com.
