Get to know the team behind Ognomy on a personal level

Lori Schulman, Director of Sales

Lori joined Ognomy at the start of August to help drive awareness of Ognomy's offerings to clinicians throughout the US. She lives in California with her husband Michael, and is excited to help Ognomy in our mission to stamp out sleep apnea.

What did you do before you joined Ognomy?

Just prior to joining Ognomy, I was the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Patient
Experience at Somnics Health, the manufacturer of iNAP, a new sleep therapy for OSA
patients who are looking for an alternative to CPAP. I also held a Business
Development consultant role at Respicardia. Prior to that, I was Senior Director of Sales
Alignment at iRhythm Technologies. I started in the sleep field in 1997 at SleepQuest, a
home sleep testing and therapy company. I gravitate to sleep startups where I can
make the biggest impact in patient care. Combined, I have over 23 years’ experience in
the sleep field.

What is your role at Ognomy?

As the Director of Sales, my role is to increase referrals into the company while at the
same time creating greater awareness of Ognomy’s offerings to clinicians throughout
the US.

Why did you join Ognomy?

I was excited to take on a sales role in the sleep apnea telemedicine space and really
connected with the mission – that the process to treatment should be faster and easier for both
clinicians and patients alike. The focus that the treatment selected is a shared decision
between with the patient and doctor aligns with my values.

What’s the best thing about your job?

As a natural networker who loves to bring people together, I believe that my vast
experiences in sleep startups will allow me to develop new business and potential
partnerships. I’m excited about the innovations I’ve seen so far at Ognomy, the potential
for growth in this telemedicine field, as well as the positive attitude shared by the team.

What has surprised you the most about working in Telehealth?

Since COVID, I have been using telehealth to see my doctors, and still find this method
preferred for many clinical encounters. It’s super easy for patients to access as well as

What’s your one prediction for the future of Telehealth?

That the number of patient healthcare encounters will increase by 50% by the end of

What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

I like to be outdoors! I enjoy gardening, hiking, reading, entertaining and cooking.

Dogs or cats?

Dogs! My husband, Michael, and I did not have pets growing up, but our grown children
both have dogs. We are considering adopting a dog soon.

Facebook or Instagram?

Facebook, however, I’m spending more time on Instagram and TikTok!

Coke or Pepsi?

Neither! I’ve never been a soda drinker, though I enjoy carbonated water.
