Everything you need to know about Ognomy, sleep apnea, telemedicine, and more. But, if we don’t answer your question here, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
How does Ognomy work?
In short, Ognomy makes it simple to get tested, diagnosed, and treated for sleep apnea without ever leaving your home.
Ognomy’s board-certified and licensed sleep medicine doctors are the best in their field.
Sometimes they work in tandem. After your initial evaluation, your provider might suspect a diagnosis that requires an in-person evaluation, or even a sleep study in a sleep center. If so, your provider will work closely with a center near you, or a center directly associated with your provider.
Ognomy is accepting new adult patients all the time. Ognomy is expanding into more states every month, but we are not currently seeing pediatric patients younger than 12 years old via the Ognomy platform.
Normally you will be able to get a telemedicine appointment within a week of registering. Once you log on to the Ognomy platform and are matched with your provider, you will be able to see the hours of availability for the providers in your state.
If you find the available dates and times are not convenient, you can actually switch to a different provider to find a more appropriate schedule. Ognomy also offers appointments at nights and weekends for your convenience in most states.
No problem. Don’t hesitate to email us on sheepa@ognomy.com or call us on 1-877-664-6669 with any questions.

Ognomy comes from the Greek word “physiognomy” which is the art of diagnosis based on facial expression/structure. Since telemedicine is truly a face-to-face visit with your provider, physiognomy surely plays a role!
Once you have your virtual consult with the doctor and we determine a sleep test is necessary for you, we will send it to your home. When you receive the test, you will be required to wear it for one night in your own bed and send it back to us the following day in the pre-paid shipping package that will be provided to you.
We’ll review the results of the test and have a follow up virtual visit with you to discuss those results and your treatment options.
The Ognomy at-home sleep study is FDA approved, highly effective, and is shipped directly to your home. The test will monitor your oxygen and breathing levels and even your pulse rate. Ognomy also provides full instructions to enable you to self-administer the test, so you never have to travel to, or stay overnight, in a sleep test center.
You simply wear the test (3 simple steps and then click the start button) for one night and then you send it back to Ognomy. The study will be reviewed and hand-scored by a sleep technician and then interpreted by your doctor, who will decide the best course of action depending on your results.
This home testing option reduces the amount of time you would spend at numerous in-person appointments with a doctor, at a sleep center, or collecting and returning the equipment.
Yes! Ognomy sends you a scientifically proven FDA approved home sleep test. Your results will be reviewed by a board-certified sleep specialist.
