Get to know the team behind Ognomy on a personal level

Christina Norris, Physician Assistant

Hi everyone! My name is Christina Norris and I’m one of the PAs on the Ognomy team. I’ve been involved in Ognomy since early on and have really enjoyed watching it’s transformation from idea to app! I’m passionate about sleep medicine and love that Ognomy unites sleep and telehealth. I’ve been called “cheerful and informative” and I’d like to think that sums up my approach to telehealth!

What did you do before you joined Ognomy?

Prior to joining the Ognomy team, I have been working in a Sleep Medicine practice seeing patients in the more traditional clinic setting.

What is your role at Ognomy?

I’m one of the Physician Assistants on the Ognomy team. In short… I’m one of the providers who’s working to help you improve your sleep.

Why did you join Ognomy?

First and foremost… I LOVE sleep and I’m happy to be helping my patients improve theirs! The Ognomy platform is an innovative way to treat sleep disorders. I am a firm believer in telehealth and all the benefits it can provide. For busy moms, people working long hours, patients with unpredictable schedules… the list goes on… the telemedicine platform gets patients the care they need on a schedule that works for them. Ognomy is a great interface and is easy to navigate. It was thoughtfully designed with the user in mind. The team is passionate about sleep and doing what’s right for the patient. I’m truly honored to be a part of it.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I love seeing the change in my patients when their sleep improves. Often, they don’t need to tell me that they feel “much better”; I can tell the moment I see them! It’s really rewarding to be a part of that.

What has surprised you the most about working in Telehealth?

Like I said, I’m a huge supporter of telehealth. I’m not sure what has surprised me the most, because I’ve firmly believed this would be a “game changer” for sleep medicine since I first heard about Ognomy. I suppose the thing that has impressed me the most is how much can be done on video (vs. in person)!

What’s your one prediction for the future of Telehealth?

Growth. I think we’ll be seeing more and more patients who prefer telehealth for many types of visits.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

When I’m not in the office my family is my main priority. We’re a close knit bunch. I also really enjoy being outside taking walks, hikes, and kayaking. I haven’t made it to the ski slopes yet, but I do love to ski as well. I spend a lot of time reading and can devour a book in a matter of hours. I’ll read pretty much any genre but I do have a policy that if I start a book I have to finish it, so I tend to be a little discerning before jumping in!

Dogs or cats?

I’m a dog person generally. I had a German Shepard growing up and now have a very cute and very loving Australian Shepard (who is begging me to throw her tennis ball as I’m typing this!).

Facebook or Instagram?

I don’t use either frequently.

Coke or Pepsi?

Oh no, this is a complicated question. If it’s diet soda then Coke, but for regular soda I prefer Pepsi.

iOS or Android?

iOS! Fun fact, I actually owned the first generation iPhone..and I’m sure I still have it somewhere. I’ve been using iOS ever since!
