patient payment options

Ognomy Sleep specialists partner with many health insurance plans; however, if we are not in network with your insurance, or you do not have health insurance at present, we also offer an affordable self-pay option. Both options are outlined in more detail below. No matter which option you choose, we are able to get you seen and treated quickly, allowing you to start therapy within just a few weeks!

1. Self-Pay Option

This option is ideal for patients who want to pay up front for their medicalcosts. The patient pays a fixed amount ($299) which includes:

A) an initial 40 minute video consultation with a sleep specialist(generally this will involve a discussion about your medical history, symptoms you’ve been experiencing and the doctor may perform an initial examination of your throat and neck through video)

B) An FDA approved sleep test sent to your home with return postage included

C) A follow-up consultation (through video) with the sleep specialist to discuss the results of your home sleep test and any potential treatment plan you may require

You will need to provide a form of payment at least 72 hours before your appointment, and you will only be charged once you show up for your first virtual consultation. In addition, if you decide not to proceed after your initial consultation, then you will receive a $200 refund to your form of payment.*

*A no-show fee of $60 will be charged if you do not show up for your appointment or cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. Once you have attended your initial consultation, $99 of your self-pay fee is non-refundable. .

2. Insurance Billing

How does it work?

● Ognomy providers are contracted with multiple insurance companies. If they are contracted with your insurance company, you will typically be required to pay a copay or deductible once you enter the waiting room in order to enter your visit or before you are sent a home sleep study device. If you have an outstanding balance owed to Ognomy after the insurance company has processed your claim, you will receive a billing statement from us.

● Your charges will be listed along with any payments received from your insurance company. This listing will correspond to the explanation of benefits (EOB) you receive from your insurance company.

● If you would like to use a doctor’s services as an out-of-network provider, we will require pre-approval from your insurance company.

● Please familiarize yourself with your insurance benefits. Your health plan mandates that you are financially responsible for payment of all copays, deductibles, and non-covered services. Your provider is contractually obliged to collect these and they will be collected prior to your service. Please do not request that we adjust these from your account.
